I originally sculpted the body in this image (complete with a head) for my first solo show in Chicago in 1993. While I did alter the body a good deal for this photograph- it was originally more generally sculpted and cast in translucent orange resin- it is still based on my impression of my body as a rather optimistic 24 year old. The surface is painted very loosely in oil paint, which is visible in the life-size print, but not here on the web.
